Frequently asked questions
Your cookbook becomes read-only forever. You and the contributors you invited keep full read access — listening to audio, viewing photos, scanning QR codes from any printed books — but no one can add new content or edit existing recipes. Re-subscribe anytime to unlock writing again. You never lose what you've preserved.
Yes — your recipes, photos, audio, and stories belong to you, and you can have a complete copy of all of it at any time. Write to us at support@ourtabletraditions.com and we'll send your full archive: every recipe, every photo at full resolution, and every recording in its original format.
A one-click export from your settings is in the works, so very soon you won't need to ask.
Only the people you invite. Your cookbook is private by default and stays that way — there are no public profiles, no discovery feed, and no way for a stranger to browse what your family has preserved.
The one deliberate exception is the QR codes in your printed books: anyone who scans one can listen to the recording it links to. That page plays the audio and nothing else — it doesn't open your cookbook.
Then you're exactly who we built this for. Everyone contributes from wherever they are — your mother adds her recipes from her kitchen, your brother records audio from his, and it all lands in the same cookbook. Distance is usually the reason a family's recipes scatter in the first place; a shared archive is how they come back together.
Yes. Write to us at support@ourtabletraditions.com and we'll move you over — you pay the prorated difference for the rest of your year, and your renewal date stays the same. Everything you've already preserved comes with you, and you can start inviting family the same day.
No — instead, every plan comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. If Our Table Traditions isn't right for your family, write to us within 30 days and we'll refund you in full, no questions asked.
We chose this over a trial deliberately. A family archive shows its worth over years, as recipes and voices accumulate, not in a seven-day window. The guarantee gives you a real month to begin, at no risk.
A hardcover book of your family's recipes, professionally printed and shipped by our print partner, Lulu. Your recipes, photos, and the stories behind them, set in the same considered design you see here — plus a QR code beside each recording, so a reader standing in a kitchen can hear the cook tell it in their own voice.
Printed books start at $99 and are a separate purchase from your subscription. Any plan can order one, whenever your cookbook feels ready.
The Family plan includes two cookbooks for exactly this reason — one for each side, or however your family divides its history. Everyone in your membership shares access to both, so nobody has to choose a side to contribute to.
You do. Everything your family adds — recipes, photos, recordings, stories — remains yours. We never publish it, never sell it, never use it to train anything, and never show it to anyone you haven't invited. We're the archive, not the author: our job is to keep what's yours safe, and to hand all of it back whenever you ask.
We plan to be keeping your recipes for a very long time. But you shouldn't have to take that on faith, so our terms make the commitment concrete: if we ever close, you get at least 90 days' written notice, the ability to download your complete archive through the entire notice period, and at least 60 more days after that when downloading still works. Your audio files come with the archive in their original format, so the recordings outlive us either way.
Nothing gets deleted without you first having the chance to take everything with you.
Ready when you are.
30-day money-back guarantee.
